“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29

In a world driven by power, status, and performance, Jesus invites us to rest - not in what we do, but in who He is. He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29.
The heart of Jesus is gentle and humble. He doesn’t demand perfection He offers presence. He doesn’t crush the weak He empowers them. When we come to Jesus, we’re not met with shame or a list of requirements, but with security knowing He is our restorer. I am reminded of the woman at the well in John 4, which we learn from Jewish history her name was Photini.
Photini was a Samaritan woman who had five prior husbands, and the 6th man she was living with was not her husband. It’s believed that her serial relationships were not because of adultery or promiscuity, but because she was probably used and abused by every man she knew and she was tired, felt worthless, and still kept trying to fill the God sized void in her heart. Then here comes that man named Jesus who would change everything.
